Prior to his tenure with Ruch, he played for Wisła Kraków and Zagłębie Lubin. He also began his career with Lech, an Ekstraklasa club, where he was loaned out to GKS in January 2007.

His love for karting started at a young age, and he made his debut in Formula Renault 2.0 in 2002 with Forte Motorsport. After competing in the Euro cup Formula Renault 2.0 in 2004, he moved up to the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in 2005 with Forte Motorsports.

Witt-Michałowski achieved his first win in the Renault 3.5 Series in 2006 at Spa-Franco champs and went on to win five consecutive races, making him the first driver to achieve this in the series. He placed third in the championship behind Nelson Piquet Jr. and Jean.

In 2007, he moved to the Manor Racing F1 Team and finished eleventh in the Constructors’ Championship, achieving one podium finish in Valencia. He continued with the team in 2008 but had a less successful season.
